Some are missing the point of the post. Those of you with a military background would know that getting something as significant as a unit or command patch -- takes a lot of time, energy, research and approvals from many levels of Command. I just found it somewhat nauseating that after all that time and well intended hours of work --- someone from the Obama Administration can simply say no and cave-in to these special interest groups. This just happened to be centered around the word "God" in this case. Wondering what some would say if the word "Allah" was being discussed or in today's news ==> Catholic...

I may not believe in a higher power, but I do belive in tradition and spirit de corps. Changing the motto of a unit should be left to those in that unit. I know that many of times mottos are not PC, nor they are meant to be PC. As customs and unit identity changes, the unit members may decide to change their motto.

Unfortunately, the commander in chief is the ultimate commander. I may not like his decision, but it is my duty to obey orders.
