Question For Computer Guys

Ms. Elena,
I use SEVERAL different browsers (daily), but I think you will find Chrome to be more than satisfactory. I use different browsers for different purposes... I don't believe the one for all mindset.

Chrome: is EXCEPTIONALLY fast, accurate rendering... it should absolutely displace IE as everybody's DEFAULT browser.

Firefox (v10): was recently released and it too is VERY fast... and works great. It has some very exciting and useful plugins and depending on what you do, it may be as good if not better alternative to Chrome... (Lord knows Google already has enough of my personal information).

Safari: The best browser at rendering Webkit sites... but not as fast or as flexible as the two above.

Opera: Very nice general browser, but needs a javascript (rendering) uplift in my opinion.

IE: Sadly, there are some websites that are ONLY supported on IE. Very few, but those that solely require ActiveX are still out there... Decent general purpose browser, but not even close to my browser of choice, but I still have it installed because of 2 (work related) websites.

All others are basically second class citizens, or more niche browsers... As you have already stated that you will try Chrome... I think you will find it quite useful. I would, however, guard AGAINST using it for hobbying, with Google's new single-EULA on collected information across ALL of their services, you run the risk of your real world persona mixing with your hobbying persona. Also note, Microsoft has a similar EULA that will allow usage & searches collected from IE to be merged with your one identity with Micro$oft too.

Now that we are all paranoid... have a nice day! ;-)
Thank you whynot42nite.

I'm taking Chrome for a test drive right now and so far I'm diggin it. I still have IE to use on some sites.

All this computer stuff is a brain overload. I'll stick to the books and let y'all have the computers.

Thanks again.
