I was a costumed participant for years, actually entertained on The Strand (with an amateur theater group, not what YOU naughty people were thinking) and in the Momus Grand Night Parade, been on TV and in the local papers several times as a performer, although few would recognize me in some of those outlandish outfits. Once I became a companion, it became necessary to fade into the background theatrically and avoid publicity, of course, but I think I get all the attention I need now, haha. I still go as a "civilian" and always have a memorably fun experience. Never tried to hobby there as the LE presence always was and continues to be huge, and besides, with all the drunk bimbos, too much young kitty available for free.
I had a great weekend this time, and the 14th Annual Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Pet Parade on the second Sunday of the 2-week MG celebration was the usual furfest and hoot, and a laudable fundraiser for the local animal shelter. I went down (STOP that, you dirty minds - I meant down to Galveston) for Fat Tuesday and the final parade and partying yesterday, caught a TON of really nice beads without having to pop my top. That takes talent, or maybe just a nice smile.
