Black & white couples make the greatest color contrast on film. For some reason, the taboo nature of this mix still exit. And actually, black with Asians is still a pretty good draw as well I believe.
I was raised that Hispanics are just white folks with names like Gomez & Lopez & Hernandez. So, I would never classify non-Hispanic whites & Hispanics as interracial. Whites are typically from Europe, Hispanics are from Spain, and unless geography has changed since the dark ages when I took it, Spain is part of the European continent.
In the white dominated world, Asians have become more accepted in society for marraiges than blacks. I think over the last 50-65 years or so, the number of wars we have fought in Asian lands (Japan, Korea, Viet Nam) where soldiers have brought back wives & children from these countries has allowed that to occur.
Perhaps a hard fought war with troops on the ground in an African nation for 5 or more years could bring about better acceptance of black & white interracial copules. With the loss of the taboo nature, the draw would be less.
This is not meant to be a political statement nor a call to war in Ethiopia, just an assessment from an engineer on the social interworkings of the world.
