What planned excuse do you have?

It's good to be prepared for how to respond. And to prepare for having to respond.

Lots of people look guilty and fumble words and make it worse.

Maybe you should just say something like "Jessica Alba was in town and we get together and fuck for a few hours every time she visits."

If you try to make up plausible lies, you often make it worse.

Say the unexpected "I was fucking" ;- )
