How have you deal with sleepless nights?

I get my best creative inspiration for new projects, as well as being able to finally concentrate on doing my homework at night. I also do all my fun reading/research at night. Basically I do everything at night, all night lol!

Then I finally pass out around sunrise...

Yep genuine vampire lifestyle

It's so nice, quiet and peaceful outside when the world is asleep

Driving around the city

Like I own the night
i know medication is not the best answer...but its the only thing that has helped me. i have suffered with insomnia since college. ask your doc for help....ambien is the best but there are other...less potent drugs that can just help ur body relax and quiet your mind

I agree Ambien is one of the best sleeping drugs out there now, but be forewarned, it's strong, can be abused, and can cause some problems for people, as in sleepwalking, sleep eating, and sleep driving! And definitely don't drink alcohol with it, as I have stupidly done in the past!

I was always a night owl but could always sleep. All those years in Vegas working every shift known to man really messed my clock up. It was better once I got back here but once I had my bypass surgery my clock got all f'ed up again. I've started going to the gym late and that seems to help. The only problem is i have to decide whether to go to bed sweaty as a shower seems to wake me up.

I went through a period of serious insomnia where I would be up for days. Ambien mad me do weird stuff like email old exes or pile stuff around my room so I stopped that. Then remembered that bob marleys favorite hobby relaxed me and put me straight to bed so that's what I do now. Works like a charm.

Yes, I have PMd people on here while i was under the influence of Ambien and had no conscious knowledge of it until the next morning. So, if you get a strrange PM or email from me, take it with a grain of salt

I usually just tap on my ole lady get a quick 15 minute workout in let her clean me up and before I know it I'm sleeping like a baby...

I too have been having a real hard time sleeping lately, didn't sleep at all last night.

I am going to try the old Benadryl and a beer trick tonight.
The bad thing is that the combo has caused me to talk in my sleep before.
I drink 3 Rusty Nails, pass out in a chair in the living room and not give a shit if I ever made it to the bed. lol
ACUPUNCTURE CURED MY INSOMNIA!

Ambien gave me a horrible hungover feeling. Plus if you take it for an extended period of time.. your body becomes addicted.

After the last two nights of no sleep, it looks like maybe complete exhaustion might finally win out....
I am currently suffering from bouts of insomnia myself. Stress will definitely play a role in your sleep patterns. I agree with Silly Girl about exercise. Those that know me personally can attest that I use Binaural Beats that slowly transfer your brains frequency from the awake Beta brainwave state where brainwaves oscillate at 12-30 Hertz, Alpha, Theta and then finally to Delta which is the sleep state where brainwaves oscillate at only 0-4 hertz. The binaural beats put off a certain vibratory beat specifically for each ear. A good pair of stereo headphones is a must. Very effective. I have used this method off and on as needed for a good 5 years. Good Luck !! I for one cherish my sleep. Lol
spend a few hours in eccie chat and you will fall asleep laughing thats what i do and it will work about 85% of the time
If you are going to medicate..the safest is Trazadone. You don't hear about it a lot..doesn't give a high feeling or even knock you out...just lets the brain quit racing. No hang over at all. Cheap...100 pills $14. I will warn you a possible side effect is an erection. Not habit forming like Ambien. I tried Ambien on a trip abroad for a couple of days..and had a hard time quitting it..and a bad hangover to boot.
