Question about Bartering

I bartered one time for all my locks being changed and a sprinkler head replaced............it was hot, sweaty, dirty sex.......... Originally Posted by PennyLane

Bartered before. Would do it again. From a HEB gift card to auto maintenance. Helped a lady move once because needed access to a truck and muscles. Even paid a bill or two once or twice. As long as the parties involve agree everyone wins..

I've also bartered before. My atf got stranded at her hotel cus her rental car broke down and had already checked out so she called me and asked me if I could pick her up. It was a 45 minute drive to her and back to my place. Then I cooked her dinner and drank beer. Then went to my bedroom had some fun then I took her back to the hotel so her friend could pick her up and take her back to Dallasi also let her have the PlayStation move bundle that I had been trying to get rid of that was brand new.

my bartering skills suck right now. Its always take it or leave it.

My skills are so bad, that even my bartering skills in Elder Scrolls Skyrim suck - level 34 speech skill/level 61 overall yes I know, uber nerd.

Hopefully after a couple more months of hobbying I'll get it down and be like you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.
My roommate bargains for help with remodeling her house, though she pays a professional to do specialty work like electrical and anything that needs a permit.

I would totally barter for a NIB iPad, but I'm sure those offers don't come too often.

You guys have given me a lot to think about. I think I have been missing out on some opportunities. I've always taken gift cards from gent after they've seen me a few times. However, there's a lot more to this than I thought possible. Any tips on how to make the process go smoothly? Especially when the trade is for multiple appts?

I have bartered for website and computer work, even a treadmill I no longer had room for once. I always want to do my part first and only barter with girls I trust or well respected members of the community, multiple date barters have to be based on mutual trust.
Wow, great sound advice on here. Thank you guys!!! You have totally changed my thoughts on it and while I won't accept every offer, I am no longer going to shoot every offer down. Got one today that I had to share

yea I think bartering for one time sessions is the best way to go. The one time I Bartered was for a large item worth well over 1500 delivery and setup. So we worked out 8 visits for tv and a some "talking" for delivery. Lets say I got 2 visits and she stated she was too busy for as often as I wanted it (I tried about every other week very open with schedule) So we said one more visit and $400for the difference. Got one more session no money for investment I'm still paying for... And the worst part is I expected to get shorted but but would get a little fun now when times were hard. But now I can't even pay to see her and said don't worry about the money cause I thought we were friends. Sorry just wanted to vent saw bill for it today time to pay that off lol. So moral of story try to barter for one session cause what if something comes up and someone can't continue to follow threw maybe even at no fault of there own. And just Fyi it was a utr from this old board I used.

Like photographers, the many bad apples give the few reputable professionals a bad name.

I might have considered the stamps if they were collectibles, but they were just the liberty stamps that will always mail a letter even when postage goes up. He said he buys them for work in high volume. Originally Posted by atxdream

Sorry to revive an older thread but had to say that I'm a reformed barterer! Thanks to a special gent and my NIB IPAD 2 The advice on this thread helped make it go perfectly. I wanted to wait to uodate this as soon as all parties fulfilled their part of the bargain. Thank you to everyone who contributed to my question
