Dallas Sports Teams

Only one night off should help the Mavs versus the older Spurs. Only one game in between hurt the Lakers I think. That extra day off and they abused the Thunder.

The past is the Spur's rings. The Lakers are defending champs. Originally Posted by Boltfan

I can just see Manu coming out and murdering the Mavs in game 6. It was nice to see game 5 go like that though. More team and less Dirk .. if only this team could attack like that every game.

Wow, it's painful to watch the Mavs on tv. We must the sorriest home court in the NBA.

I would love to see the Mavs win a championship. I rooted for them against Miami. Just not over my Lakers.

I root for the Rangers as well. I try to embrace the home town teams... except the Cowboys.
LOVE the Cowboys! LOVE the Stars! LOVE the Rangers!
HATE HATE HATE THE MAVERICKS!

Why? Because the biggest asshole of the 21st century-Mark Cuban- owns them! H

And TTH and Boltfan don't be surprised if the Spurs don't mop up the Mavs tomorrow. Timmy and the rest of the boys did not play that much in game 5 after they took their ass whipping and you can damn sure bet that Pop will make his adjustments. And TTH if you want to see a championship trophy go to either LA or SA and you will see where all of them have gone the last decade. It sure will be a hell of a long time if it ever happens before Cuban can hang one.

Dude you have horrible memory gaps. I sat in the corner suites that have their own bar. Duncan (falling on his ass at the foul line) made the shot coming at us to put them ahead. Fisher was at the 3 point line (diagonal - opposite side of court from us) to stick the dagger in to San Antonio Spurs and their fans that night.

Unforutnately Erags has a gap in their data from Feb 2004 to August 2005 so I cannot post a link.

I am sure Boston and Miami have something to say about your championship statement. Detroit also managed to pull one out of their ass against the Laker Dream Team in 2004. Spurs only have 3 this decade hehe. Oh and they have the 1 that needs an asterisk from 1999.

We both really know though and others here in SA will confirm what really took place but alas you will never admit that your s/o put her foot down. LMFAO BTW in typical Phil Jackson fashion you play the asterisk card. Last I remember they all played the same amount games and everyone had the chance to win the title and the Spurs did. Maybe you better stick to your biggest loser contest in Dallas as your memory sure is lacking. LMFAO
I am curious.

I have never met Mark Cuban. Read a little about him. Seen him on TV and listened to him on The Ticket.

What makes him an asshole? What has he done or what does he do that makes him an asshole?

and Bob, I love your anti local sports rants; especially when you are wrong. We should go to a baseball game sometime with a couple of gals. Free beeer and bat night is always fun!
Cuban... HMMM Isn't a cheep bastard like Hicks or JerJer .. Actualy spends some money to get good players.. Or at least trys.. Speaks his mind about Shitty Ref's, and has been fined by the NBA because of his views... Yep..Asshole

OHM,

So let me make sure I am understanding your argument. You say I wouldn't bet, a bet I would have won. You say I wouldn't come to face the music, yet the Lakers won the game and the series and would have been there to collect?

Just making sure I understand your Spur fan logic.

Cuban is a odd duck. He's brash and likes to talk trash, both of which I find unfortunate. I think it's a little bit of the Peter Pan syndrome. And I think he likes being the center of attention, for some reason. But he is without question a very hands on owner who spares little expense to make his team better. And he does passionately care about the game and his team. But he unquestionably rubs a lot of people the wrong way. But I wouldn't trade him for any other owner in all the NBA just because he will open his pockets and he does live and die with how the team does on the court. But I could live without the attention seeking personality. But that is part of the marketing of the team in his mind, and they do have the longest sell out streak in the NBA.
Texas is going to have to have a name change from the Lone Star State to the "Choker State" if they don't turn around. They need to get rid of Cuban and Jones and maybe the stars will shine bright once more. Throwing a boatload of money at a team doesn't buy the chemistry that wins championships.

Avery just got out coached bad, it's sad Dirk gets the blame for that shit. Wade killed us, but Avery choked against Riley. I wonder would people perception of Dirk had changed if he won that championship. I guess you got to be a real Mavs fan to truly appreciate Dirk. That dude is a hall of famer when its all said and done.

Shawn Marion on the cheap(.. with a sign-and-trade)? Resigning Jason Kidd or losing him just after you traded for him? The last stupid contract the Mavs gave might have been Jason Terry. Obviously that paid off, he was a 6th man of the year winner since then. It's not Cuban who needs to go it's Donnie Nelson. It's sad to see this team getting patched up with all this old talent. Kobe didn't do shit inbetween Shaq and Pau. Garnett didn't win shit before he played with Pierce. I'm a Dirk fan, but if you keep him you have to have a guy to off set him. Them Mavs don't have a attacking shooting guard or a real post player. That has always been this team weakness. Thats why the Mavs have a hard time with this weak Spurs team. If we can't attack a team off the dribble (Pierce) or just throw it in the post (Gasol) .. then we're that same jumpshot team that "chokes". This whole uptempo playing style the Mavs got is just to hide their deficiency to defend and score easy half-court points. Either you bite the bullet and trade Dirk or get him some real young help somehow. That's all on the GM not Cuban.

And Boltfan maybe your Lakers may squeak by the Thunder. I think that maybe it is time to cue up bigbob to sing turn out the lights the party is over for all Mavs. fans.

Oh thanks for being honest. I do appreciate that. By taking the bets you mean the ones I would have won correct? You do remember the Spurs lost that series don't you? You are arguing with me over a bet you and your fellow Spurs fans would have lost? I am not sure I have ever thought to brag about a bet I would have lost.

It sure is a good thing you folks and your one pro team are keeping tabs on me. I don't know who would do it otherwise. We can resume this talk IF your Spurs make it to the conference championship.
