Maybe if those mothers didn't have the safety-net they wouldn't be so quick to have children that they might not otherwise be able to afford. Or consider other options such as adoption. Is there abuse? Of course, just as there's abuse of the system at the other end of the scale, with the well off abusing the system to financially further their ends.
More than 3 or 4 times i've suggested on here that if someone has an idea to rid the system of the abusers, while at the same time insuring that those who truly need the system are not harmed, i'm all ears. In those 3 or 4 times, i've not heard one idea in response. Until then, i'm willing to hold my nose and put up with the abuse in order to assist those who legitimately need it.
There are too many people here (I can speak for far too many) who choose public assitance over a minimum wage job because welfare-pathetically enough-pays more. There's something seriously wrong with this society when members think that way. There's also something seriously wrong with a society where a 40 hour work week pays the same scraps that someone can get on welfare. Unfortunately, we need to take the bad with the good.
What happens Doove when you need help? And I? And every other person in this country? Then who exactly is going to be working to pay for these services? That'll never happen, Heather. Come on, you're smarter than that.
enabling people to the point where they become slaves is not compassion its demonicWhere do you get this stuff? Nevermind, i think i know.
and the people that fight to keep the handout flowing have more disrespect for humans and the inherant ability of human beings to become great , but given the fact they will have a safety net, will never be pushed, they will never come to realize just how great they can be when they discover the God given talent they where born with. You can convince yourself of anything, i suppose.
