oil spill/golden leak?????

you right joeblows. the pugh haliburton set 20 hour before before the explosions didnt hole. but bp will have to pay the bill. its there lean of that zone that being drilled.
I heard they weren't nippled up yet either. Isn't htat the wrong way? (I'm not a driller)
I've heard that BP only had 6 of thier empolyes on the rig, and it was a crew they hired that was doing the drilling. Bp has come out lately and said it wasn't thier fault. Makes no difference they had the lease and hired the crew so they are responible for what happens. Have to wait and see if Obama can make them pay for all the cleanup, like he said yesterday. Does anyone know if the rig sunk on top of the pipes or missed it?
no they towed it off location
edit, I guess it's a dp vessel, so I bet they towed it off or it just floated a away and sank

Heres an interesting theory I heard from my time in Gulf shores, AL:

Ppl Here seems to believe that the incident was an act of retaliation by some environmental groups to Obama's signing to allow more offshore drilling. Its supposed to be minor and only to scare the coast and wasn't supposed to result in this big of a disaster.

Sound far-fetched to me though. Originally Posted by TheAlphaMale

Considering that this has never happened (as far as I know) it seems strange that it did. Anything can go wrong, and obviously something did, but a group or person facilitating the event is not that hard to believe either.

And these are the same people that vote? No wonder why we have the problems we do now in the country.

I've been following this incident more or less.

BP may have thought this was an accident, however, what about the possibility that it wasn't? stranger things may have happened.

I've came across an article that says that the North Koreans maybe responsible for the blow out. According to the article, said North Korean freighter left Cuba and radically changed course towards the BP rig and launched a suicide mini-sub armed with 2 incendiary torpedoes. alleged sub used the torpedoes on the BP rig. Also states that the BP rig was built by a South Korean shipyard.

the timing is rather suspect.. a south korean ship sinks 3 weeks ago.

I do have one question tho, BP or Haliburton was pouring in those cement plugs, and cement do generate heat, would its heat be enough to burn solid methane hydrates on the sea floor @ 5000ft?

I heard the same thing from people on Fox like former FEMA director Micheal Brown and Dana perino If some of this wouldn't be so far fetched its scary. Its was suggested that Obama can out for Offshore drilling a month ago for that they could sank a rig and get there way with the oil and coal industry later. But in the end hard core republicans are going to believe this could be true democrats won't believe any of this is true and everyone in the middle is going to think your crazy for even suggesting that it might be true. good luck in 2012!

Obama biggest recipient of BP cash

BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company’s political action committees — $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.

On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying — including $15.9 million last year alone — as it has tried to influence energy policy.

During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.

The large sums of money given to Obama from BP is a fraction of what they collect from our government but its for the dumb ass idea we can power the world on wind and solar power..... remember (BP=beyond petroleum not British when they advertise). The street word is their safety manuals are the strictest in the industry and their compliance is the worst. BP is from England and they are experts at taking anything the government can give as long as they make profits and using the socialist agenda running our country to their advantage. This screw up is on their heads add we in south louisiana will pay for it.

Here is a transcript of an account on the Mark Levin radio show. It should dispel the terrorist attack talk and gives some great insight to the closing process of a well.

well, that's mother nature!

I can understand everyone jumping on BP.... it's their oil. But why haven't we heard more real "blame" placed on the actual company doing the drilling.... TransOcean ?

As usual. with our "press" involved.... we are getting the story from one of the most "ignorant" segments of our society!!
