With insurance discounts and FSA tax free contributions you can get the cost down to 1000-1200 or so per eye. Some places don't charge full price if you don't need custom lasik. Then you can usually get 12 months or so, or longer, no interest financing. So it can be quite affordable if you play your cards right.
