Sadly, Bush seemed to quit thinking about being president about half way through his 8 years. He turned over the presidency to Chaney and Rove, among others. You could almost see him curl into the fetal position and want it to all go away.

Reagan also distanced himself from a lot more of the day to day details than most Presidents, but he alway kept a CEO-like awareness of the ones he thought most important.
