If you don't want her to call, DON'T GIVE HER YOUR PHONE NUMBER!

Sure, you can probably use a smartphone and do all the PMing on it, but still very impractical.

I really don't have a problem with a provider calling me. My hobby phone is always off unless I'm using it for hobby purposes. If a provider calls when phone is off, it goes straight to voice mail. To be honest, I've never had a provider call me unsolicited.

When YOU gave those *rookies* your #. Did YOU, take a few minutes to INFORM them that you do NOT want to be called out of the blue??

Like another poster stated. You need to address your issue with the *rookies* your giving your # to.

Again, I don't encourage ladies to call uninvited, but I think it's completely unfair to put the onus on HER because a guy doesn't take the precutions he needs to take.

If I give a lady my direct cell # she also knows she can call any time--and I trust her to be discrete when she does. Only those I trust get it. It's the same thing when ladies give me their personal (non-work) number.

I don't mind a call but I will say that for some providers when they text it has their name at the end of the message. Not very smart to have your working name identified at the end of every text message. If someone has an SO or hell anyone that sees that message with your name at the end all they have to do is google it. If you have an eccie profile with that name then it's all over.
You can pickup a flip phone for $15 at wallyworld, and that's got $10 of airtime on it. If you gave her your IRL phone number, that's your problem. I have had girls send text messages to my P2P phone, and I don't have a problem with it. (Texting is my preferred way of contact.) Your phone is your security risk and your responsibility. It's kinda like saying, "don't send me any viruses, I don't like using anti-virus."
