It is VERY expensive to live in CA as opposed to TX, or anywhere else for that matter. In your same link, median value of a house in CA $458K, TX $123K, almost four times higher.

Don't get me wrong, I have a residence in CA, and I would never wish it upon anyone to have to live in TX, but as far as the economy, working stiffs in TX are much better off under Perry.
