The Wisdom of Rick Perry

All facts to the contrary notwithstanding, eh nwsrounder?

Median per capita income:

Texas $24,870
California $29,188
USA $27,334

A Texan earning $24,870 would need to make 44% more, or $35,880 to maintain the same standard of living in CA, according to Bankrate and several other cost of living comparisons.

Don't get me wrong, I have a residence in CA, and I would never wish it upon anyone to have to live in TX, but as far as the economy, working stiffs in TX are much better off under Perry.

Perry has absolutely nothing to do with median per capita income or median cost of houses ..

if he does maybe he can give everyone a raise and increase the value of their homes to offset the drasitc devalueation homeowners delt with when housing bubble burst like an egg hitting a sidewalk.

Perry has been in office long enough to assume responsibility for the $25B state deficit ..

CBJ7 isn't questioning the math because he doesn't understand math.

if I remember right the office of governor of Texas has very little power, doesn't the speaker of the House or Reps have more?

Speaking of Perry, wasn't Kay Bailey running against him, when is the primary?

and for the record, the projected debit for the state's Medicaid program is around $15 billion, now that Perry has again turned down Federal funds that Texans have already paid for.

We were better off with Governor Bush!

Texas is not prosperous. It's like a third world country with great extreems of wealth coexist cheek by jowl with horrible poverty, especially in rural areas and south Texas. Upward mobility is limited, especially out of the very lowest strata because we have a terribly underfunded primary education system. That is now being moved up to our public universities, which while never first rate, used to be over average at least at the top levels. Originally Posted by TexTushHog
