I respect anyone who's willing to devote time to moderate this board. I did it for awhile on ASPD and it can be incredibly time-consuming.
But at the same time, there were moderators on ASPD who, in my view, didn't have the right temperment to moderate. They tended to make threads about their moderating rather than leaving members free to post, like bad umpires in a baseball game. They used a truncheon to moderate rather than a pair of sharp scissors. They closed threads unnecessarily. They assessed points like a cop writing speeding tickets at the Indy 500. They posted mean-spirited comments about members.
With that being said, I think Eccie has been like day to night compared to ASPD. And I hope it remains that way, no matter who's moderating.
Hey, there's hope.
Shyster has become a kinder, gentler and straight talking helpful sort of dude as opposed to his old opinionated egregious asshole board self. And I'd say that if he was in the room. Because it's true. And appreciated. A wise and insightful person who is actually a wise and insightful person is a benefit to have around.
So hey, there's hope!
