Pizza on the north side of San Antonio

I remember Lucas. Seemed it was like a family chain at the malls.
I always remember one of the older workers there being so nice. You couldn't ruffle his feathers. Good Italian guy.

Copa Wine Bar...the Zeta pizza is out of this world good! I haven't tried the other ones as I always order the Zeta, but I bet they're just as good!

Yes, it was a family run place. I know they had two locations, one at Windsor and one at Ingram. Got to know the family pretty good since I frequented the place so much. At Windsor I pretty much spent all of my time at Luca's, the Aladdin's Castle game room next store and the movie theater across the hall.

Good times.

Being from Chicago, I'm used to having at least 3 or 4 great privately owned pizza joints within any given neighborhood, each with their own character. My personal favorite is Lou Malnati's (family owned chain), which can be mail ordered using the following link:

They're great for parties and you can keep them in the freezer for an impromptu upscale take on a movie & dinner night. Add a nice red zinfandel (the red fruit and spice and pepper notes pair nicely with pizza), candles, and good conversation, and you have the ingredients for a great casual date. In a pinch, though, I find that the fresh-made pizzas at your local H-E-B are better than any Pizza Hut or Domino's.

Pizzabella on Nacogdoches between Judson and O'Connor is pretty good. I'm not a wine enthusiast but they have a pretty large wine selection plus some pretty good beers on tap.

If you like deep dish chicago style pizza, try out BJ's Brew Pub on 281 and Stone Oak. They are a California chain restaurant but have excellent food and excellent home brew type beer. Their pizza is the best I've had in town and I've had probably all those mentioned in this thread. Just my humble .02 cents worth....

The only true NY pizza that I've tasted is on 6th street in Austin...yummy! Now I'm craving pizza...thanks a lot guys!

Julian's in the 281/Bitter's area. It's actually at the rear of the Habanero Grill off of West Avenue....very close to Magnolia Pancake house. Great NY style crust, and some great sub sandwiches too.

Reference my Post #3 ==> I understand they are soon opening another place on Blanco Road (South of Bitters on the right side before you get to El Mirasol) in the same shopping center as the Ming Tree Chinese Restaurant.

Big Lou's.... W. W. W. White Rd. Main St Pizza .... 1901 Main St. Both my favorites

Most authentic Italian pizza in Texas is made by a Spurs fan from Naples in a little place on Babcock and Hillcrest.

I'm w/ travelingbro.....I'd gladly cruise on over to the eastside (from any part of town) to hit up Big Lou's!

Business takes me close by there (Big Lou's) a couple times a week. Good Pizza.

I am suprised I have not seen Little Italy on here. I'm always suprised that people don't know about it in the first place.
It is tucked behind the DQ on West ave. pass Blanco heading toward Nakoma. If you pass the fire station on the right you have missed the street. You can also pull thru the afore mentioned DQ.
Family owned, from NY and they have mastered the dough with good old Texas water. Callimari is great, Chic parm as well. If you have any kind of Italian food on your mind this is the place to try.
