Well, that is a really dumb question.
The fact of the matter is that Hitler was directly responsible for starting WWII and for building concentration camps to eradicate the Jews and escalating the war.
. . . It's not necessary to pull a gun on a single person to just kill one person when you can greatly magnify your killing power by controlling an entire nation and stirring up hatreds that drive them into war which then kills tens of thousands in single battle of a protracted war.

The English and French said they did so in defense of Poland, but that was a transparent pretext, and no one at the time believed it.
1.They provided no aid to Poland...none.
2.They did nothing to strike Germany directly which might have aided the Poles.
3.They only declared war on Germany although the USSR also attacked the Poles.
4.Then after Poland the USSR attacked Finland and England and France did nothing.
5.After the war declarations Germany offered many times to end the state of war but Britain and France refused.
6.De-classified documents showed that the British and French welcomed the opportunity to fight the Germans because they had developed a plan they thought would crush Germany once and for all, unlike 1919.
7.All the British and French leaders, and FDR in the US for that matter, were hawks in 1919 and wanted Germany destroyed. The doves of 1919 like British PM LloydGeorge were pro-Hitler.
The Second World War was started and continued by the English and French. That's how a tiny little war became a huge one.
