ANOTHER POLL NOT TO BELIEVE....

I was hoping that we would have heard more by now from Whirly regarding his expert analysis that Wisconsisn is now trending Romney.
Bigtits., look at the RCP Wisconsin average over the last several months and you will see Romney has been closing on Obama, even leading in the reliable Rasmussen polling.....that us called trending Romney.

With that said, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Romney being down by over 5 percentage points in Wisconsin by the polling data firm that you personally referred to as "the very respectable Real Clear Politics," (your words, not mine) does not justify a wild declaration from a worn out race horse that "Wisconsin is (now) trending Romney."
A trend is a tend, deny the trend if it makes you feel comfy...no matter to me.

And kudos to your horserace / handicapping references.....

Whirly, need I remind you that "a trend is a trend, deny the trend if it makes you feel comfy...no matter to me."
BigTits; according to the RCP trending graph for Wisconsin Obama had an 11.3 point lead over Romney on March 1, 2012, the Obama lead is now 5.4 points.....that is "trending Romney".................AND in the 2 most reliable state polls (Marquette University and Rasmussen) the trend favors Romney even more - Rasmussen has Romney leading Obama in the state !

Deny the polling trends if you like; I think you also were one of the deniers regarding the Scott Walker recall outcomes.........but I could be wrong on that point.

Question for Whirly, if "the very respectable Real Clear Politics" (your words, not mine) graph clearly indicates that Romney has consistently lost ground (from 1 to 5 percentage points) in Wisconsin to Obama for a 3+ month period, how can it be interpreted by a reasonable person "that Wisconsin is (currently) trending Romney?" That is in excess of 1 percentage point per month increase for Obama! That consistitutes a much more recent trend than March through May.

If you are capable of interpreting the RCP graph (and it remains to be seen whether you are capable) you will clearly see that in early May, Obama had a 1 percentage point lead over Romney. Obama has consistently increased that lead since early May to where it is now over a 5 percentage point lead.

That does not equate to a current interpretation of "trending Romney." Had you said Wisconsin was trending Romney from March through May but is now trending Obama we would not be having this argument. Instead you make an inaccurate assumption "that Wisconsin is (currently) trending Romney" and tried to pass your innacurate assumption off as factual.

I have presented two links from "the very respectable Real Clear Politics" (your words, not mine), which clearly back up my point that Wisconsin has consistently been trending Obama since early May! No one with a rational mind would interpret the recent May-mid August RCP polling data as "trending Romney," especially given the fact that Obama has consistently increased his lead over Romney by 4 percentage points over a 3 to 3 1/2 month period.

There you have it folks, Wisconsin is currently tending Obama despite a rather feeble (and innacurate) attempt by Whirly to convince you otherwise! You might want to be careful Whirly. You are in serious danger of being compared to StupidOldFart! I have been under the impression that you are smarter than SOF. Not much smarter, but at least a little!
