Master, I believe their is some truth in what you say, but the primary responsibility lyes in the corrupt Mexican government. When you have over US trained Mexican Police defecting to the cartels then you have government corruption that is so deep, that no amount of effort to curb a problem will be successful.

As a self professed blue liberal, balls at least, my only concern is the slippery slope when civil liberties are left open to be abused by folks with an agenda. I want the laws of this great country to be enforced, but not at the expense of liberties. Kind of like the knee jerk Patriot Act after 9/11 and the areas that I think it went too far in invading US citizens rights. If stopping people because they may appear to be doing something illegal....I would be stopped everyday, because I always appear to be a filthy pervert, I only am on days that end in Y. My point, there are many laws that need to be changed, including immigration reform, drug laws, this hobby etc..as Gunther Cunnigham was said, "if you cut off the head of snake it is still a snake"...never understood what he meant, I just love to quote insane football coaches.

It's probably true everywhere, we just chose not to look there (running gun battles in the city, yet the police can't find suspects? or is it that those suspects pay for better protection from exposure?)

How is it we see lots of press on hobby busts, but virtually nothing on drug busts? (who has the money for better bribes?)
Cheaper, how many troops did Bush send to the border? I think the number was 3,000 so now Obama is continuing a Bush policy but only doing it halfway.
McCain is trying to save his sorry behind with his johnny come lately approach to immigration reform.

I still want to know the orders given to the troops. Considering everything they may be handing out gift baskets. Originally Posted by john_galt
