Election and Political Ads

Just curious, the number of ads that we view probably has not changed. Do most people have an aversion to political ads? To me an ad is an ad, I tend to find most of the ads humorous and funny.

It would be interesting to see the actual data on the number of political ads to which we are exposed. My guess would be that we are seeing more ads. Not only do we have the ads by the actual candidates, but we are also subjected to ads by political action committees and various other groups. Nowadays anyone can run an ad for or against anyone or anything (whether it be true or not) as long as they can ante up the funds to pay for it. One of the downfalls of the freedom of speech we enjoy, but something we have to put up with.

They consider Iowa a battle ground state, so we do get some of the Presidential ads if you listen to Omaha radio and TV stations. Especially talk radio, and I'm sure it will get pretty crazy here the last few weeks as more candidates put out a final push just before election day.
