I have refused to get into apple products on principle. Foxconn has had to put up nets to prevent employees from committing suicide at work, now they're being investigated for employing child labour. I can't in good conscience buy their products. That said, I've been thinking it's time to replace my dumb phone. What you said about your phone censoring what you access is enough to make me rethink the decision. I wonder if it's the phone or the carrier that's blocking access.

It's ironic now that Apple is targeted for their labor practices when in fact their 'factories' (and I use that term loosely since other manufacturers use the same facilities), as bad as they are compared to western factories, they're better than most Chinese factories that manufacture your Android phones, windows computers, and just about any other electronic schlock u find at ur local stores.
I don't meant to be provocative, but do you abstain from buying stuff at Walmart, Target, etc.? What about electronic gear in general? Or r u just not aware how labor & environmental conditions r worse at non-Apple factories? Don't get me wrong, I do share ur concerns, and am trying to do something about it. For example, most of my clothing is now made from organic cotton and is manufactured in progressive factories outside of China.
