Why a Tattoo?

I'm not looking to start the worn out debate re who does and does not like body art. I'm simply asking why? A friend of mine said she did it because her older sister had one and she wanted to "rebel" a tiny bit against the image everyone had of her (little bitty bunny rabbit where she'd have to drop her pants if you wanted to see it) as some prim and proper lady but not go crazy with something that might impact her professional career.

I see it as an artistic expression. I personally think that art belongs on a canvas,...not on a body. But I suppose everyone is different when it comes to decorating their temple! I'm more fond of henna tattoos than real ink jabbed under the skin!

Very interesting thread. Everyone has an opinion about tats and it seems that they are pretty strong opinions on both sides. I personally prefer if a girl is a knock out beauty and has that perfect rocking body that everyone else wish they had then why cover it up. Before you start jumping on me for tat bashing I do not mind a few tasteful tats and if you want cover up perfection then it is by all means your body to do what you want, just voicing an opinion. To me personally I have seen a few girls who looked pretty hot a first then when I looked at their profile and saw a big tat on their thigh or up the side of their torso and I think pass.

I am here for the taint.
