Police Officers - Under Appreciated ?

I don't have a problem with the police, unless I am looking at blue lights in my rear view mirror
I think a man in uniform is very sexy, as long as their not coming for me. We all break the law even when we think we are being good. There are so many stupid laws on the books, and yes their are the ones that like to push their badges around.

I believe like said before, many don't like them until needed. I only wish they would concentrate on bigger issues. It's very dangerous for them, kudos to those that want to protect & try to clean things up. I prefer to entertain safely & avoid them.

Well you know what Mark Twain said, "Never argue with stupid people, they'll drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience".

+1 Greenhorn! My girlfriend Deeelicious always used to say, "You just can't fix stupid!"

I will say though...I appreciate our LE Officers...they're just ordinary people with a very difficult job. Some are assholes with control issues...some are lazy and just don't want to do paperwork...while others use discretion, and are fair-minded. Whatever type we may encounter...we should understand...it's their JOB, like it or not!

Yes Likinikki, discretion in their job goes a long way in the way they are perceived by the public at large. And you are so right, they are ordinary people who have a very difficult, and thankless, job.

So it all depends on how we encounter them.

But late at night, when things go bump in the night, the respond when we call.

Sorry, I thought this thread was closed but I see some folks wanted to have a final say - that's cool.

My final thoughts

- Most people aim blind anger at police officers for enforcing the laws, when in reality, their beef should be directed and addressed with the "legislative and judicial" branches of government.

- For example, if you got caught using your cell in a school zone during open hours, try lobbying for a change in the law if you think it's stupid as opposed to bashing cops for writing you an expensive ticket.

- Like in any other profession (to include the military), you have the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. It comes with the territory of being human.

- Ms. Nikki, you've proven to me you appreciate law enforcement by your comments - I commend you! Don't understand, however, why you thought I was referring to you in the "negative" when I indicated only having received 2 intelligent responses. I never made that distinction, by responder.

- Mr. Greenhorn, it's obvious you get it! A salute to you, sir!
