Now up to $550M. I'm investing a few dollars so I can accelerate my exile to the South of France.

I used to play the lottery, but not anymore.

. . . The odds of winning with a ticket are about infinitesimal as winning without one.

I wouldn't dream of taking away, a poor person's chance to become a filthy rich problem for the country!

I know people who say they might pick up a few tickets when they stop by a mini-mart from time to time. Presumably, just about everyone posting in this section can easily afford the P4P world, and therefore wouldn't be bothered in the least by dropping a few bucks on tickets.

My only concern is that millions of households with incomes near or below the median spend hundreds of dollars per year they can't afford on dreams and fantasies that they'll be the nexy big winner.

I read recently that people in some of the poorer rural counties in some states spend amounts exceeding $200 per adult resident. I shudder to think how much some of the bigger spenders piss away.

Most of these people should be saving and investing with every ounce of energy they have. Unfortunately, many will instead face bleak retirement years.

The lottery is obviously little more than a disguised tax on the poor.

I'm not that far away, but I need a bit more than $2, I'm afraid.

IF you hit, you'll never gripe once about all the times you lost.

And the tax is 28% off the top and settle for up to the max of 39% difference by next April. In case you were interested.
