Les Misérables

Nobody was complaining, BigTurd. I just thought you were confused. I guess I was right. Originally Posted by CuteOldGuy

Nope. Wasn't complaining, BigTurd. Sorry to disappoint you. But trust me, you may be miserable, but we weren't talking about you.

You keep calling me a liar, but never offer proof. No wonder you're miserable.

You have to notice that those secure in their manhood can talk about liking a musical while those quivering, frightened, semi gay boys stand back and throw stones.

I guess we know who the real men are and we know who the cock grabbing in their sleep boys are.

Saw Les Mis many years ago, took my parents to it. We all enjoyed it.

I saw the movie--under a bit of duress I admit since I have seen the 25th anniversary performance on PBS as well as 3 live versions in the past two years. Just a bit Les Mis burned out for now I guess.

I enjoyed it, but thought it was a bit disappointed. I guess the 25th & a couple of the live ones set a standard that was very hard to match. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has not seen the play version, and most who have will still enjoy the movie. A solid B+ in my mind, but overall not an A.

I do find it annoying that star power seems to be the biggest part of casting, not necessarily appropriateness to the role. COG, agree with all your assessments of the people. I expected Crowe to be better, didn't have as much faith in Jackman, but both surprised me a bit. Hathaway surprised me quite a bit--in a good way. I did not expect much from her but she was excellent.

There are a lot worse ways to spend a few hours.
