Here is a link for you from upstate.
When I did a search for this topic I could not find anything specifically pertaining to Upstate NY, which obviously is my main interest. Originally Posted by Tatiana M.

I have stayed in so many hotels over the past 20 years that nothing bothers me. Hell, I can even walk into a hotel that I have never set foot into before and locate the lobby restrooms without a second thought. ... Originally Posted by pyramiderDead on, babe!

I guess when I really think about it...walking through the lobby is probably better. You look like you belong and how will they know, as long as you don't draw attention to yourself. It's a hotel, people come and go constantly. Again, now that I think about it, probably safer than being let in a side door or pulling up to the room and having to knock.Joe, I always assumed direct access was better -until a gent enlightened me and after thinking about it also, I came to the conclusion that lobbies were better also. Here in the souther tier, a somewhat sparsely populated place, a lady like me sort of sticks out, especially when walking through a lobby at 9pm with my long platium blonde hair and high heels. I've learned to tone it down, because I do not want to attract attention while walking through lobbies. Cell phone in hand, I pretend to be talking to a boyfriend and meeting him for dinner. That way, hotel clerks think I'm just a hot lady coming to see her boyfriend. "Is Red Lobster still open? I know it's late hun, I'm sorry I couldn't get here any sooner, but I can't wait to see you and go out to dinner, I'm so hungry."
But with me, I'm always paranoid before and after, so it usually doesn't matter, I'm semi-freaking out regardless lol Originally Posted by joefk24

As long as you go in with a white envelope sticking out of your pocket and a bottle of wine in your arm, no one will suspect anything. Originally Posted by brasilRoflmao.

This will give you a few seconds to look around, and find which direction you need to go. Originally Posted by Tatiana M.
