Unions have had a useful purpose, but the states and feds have laws to regulate conditions in the work place and wages....if one can get a job!

given the realities of the post office it seems appropriate that the post office take care of its own retirees and get them off the government tit. Unfortunately weekly I must go to the post office to process mail and too many times I have seen 15 to 20 CUSTOMERS in line waiting for their turn in front of 2 agents, a 3rd one comes out, then one of the other two close their station and take a "mandatory" break ... while the CUSTOMERS are still waiting!

Mentality: (test screening issue) Had an agent complain to me that I pre-posted my mail and then asked them to scan it for verification, BECAUSE the Post Office wasn't getting the POSTAGE!!!!

Electronic mailing (progress) hurts the post office, but the post office hurts itself. Constantly reducing services to cut costs.

Corporations won, unions lost. For better or for worse, we're going to be stuck with that for the forseeable future.
