Princess of poker OR Princess of PLAGIARISM? Texas... I'll let YOU decide...:(

I am with you on this. It is the same. I am some one who not only looks at the pretty picks. I read your bio and read everything that the women puts out before I see her. I try to get the suttle hints that she is unaware she will put out in the writing. This helps me determine to see if I want to see her. If the writing is not yours, then I am being deceived. It is the same as having fake pics.

Here's the scenario for you. It's like I went to a casting call with someone else's headshots and bio. Do you think I deserve the job. Do you honestly think that casting agents going to be able to tell if I would be perfect for the job. They will not appreciate me wasting there time. Fake pics or writing is a big no in my book.

Wow! That is pretty bold.

I'm surprised that she didn't include the pics. That was a cut and paste job. All you have to do is look at the punctuation.

I could see why you're annoyed Guinevere and I would side with you on this one even if I had never met you (thank god I did get to meet you though). I was going to say something to the effect of don't get too beat up about it, imitation is the highest form of flattery, or something else, but I can see how passionate you are about this. Yeah that isn't right. Coming up with your own ad isn't that hard, we all have something special about us sets us apart from the rest.

Guinevere, at the end of the day you're definitely special and unique within our community and have left a special imprint on us all.
Easy, simple, and creative.

Wow, That's really a shameful thing. I clicked on the links that JJ provided (thanks for that btw) and I honestly couldn't believe that.

I wouldn't let it tear you apart too much because at least you can take solace that although she copied you word for word, she couldn't not use the pics of your gorgeous body. You're an amazing woman and an inspiration to other providers who want to maintain and promote a healthy approach to the hobby world. Kudos to you my lovely friend, I hope one day we may have the opportunity to meet in person.

When someone works on anything it can be frustrating when someone else just takes it from you with the intention of using it for THEIR own gain. When I see something that i admire, respect, or even maybe envious of, I look at the elements of what i like about it (maybe even inspect the parts i don't like about it) and I try think of a way for me to either achieve the same effect while putting my personal spin on it or do it even better. Copying and pasting is not inspired, not exhausting any effort and it's selfish in it's attempt to capitalize on your creative spin.
If someone steals my purse because they were jealous of it or they really admired my taste and sense of style I don't take it as a compliment.

Teach me, Touch me is not copyright infringement as it is a general statement much like "I love you" has been included in many songs but no one will be suing you for copyright infringement...Moreover; "Master where art thou?" is not attributed to Danielle Herbert a singer, song-writer, occupy supporting commie blogging about her well thought out musings of peace, love, equality and other platitudes ...It was a line used in a poem by Nathan Haskell Dole in 1895 in The Hawthorne Tree; and other poems...(public domain) Be that as it may it is still nothing more then a sentence so no copyright would apply. The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work is an important factor used in deciding fair use or copyright infringement.

With all that being said it has already been mentioned accurately in this thread that the hobby is it's own entity sitting outside of the law. The only course of action for anyone to do when they get jilted is publicize it and hope that the offender receives the impact of such negative publicity. When clients get a "bait and switch" or a bad appointment with a sour provider they write a negative review to allow other members of the board to beware. That's exactly what the lovely Slave Guinevere did by posting this thread. Providers cannot write reviews, we can not take issues up in the court (without surrendering our anonymity) and we can't go around beating up other girls who piss us off (at least I hope most don't)

Slave wrote a very pretty and well worded AD. Princessof..whatever copied and pasted the ad in it's entirety and posted it as her own while seeking monetary gain via appt requests for slave's creativity. Slave has posted a thread to allow other members of this board to know what happened so if they were thinking of maybe seeing princessunoriginal based off of the ad they could be informed that those words are not hers and do not represent how she feels about her role in the hobby.

Seems pretty reasonable and seems like the best way to have approached the situation. You rock, Miss Guinevere!! Some people would have addressed this in a much worse manner and demeanor filled with a lot more trashy dramatics ... You're amazing!!! Keep that beautiful head up!!

SG,

Each has been an epoch experience.

Anyway, willen, can I ask what rate you paid for an *epoch* of the lovely slave's companionship? :-) whatever it was, I'm sure it was worth it!

Slave - I'm very enamored by you and hope to make your acquaintance and experience the wonderment others have described.

I guess there truly is no "honor amongst thieves", (A.C.Clayton), here. It's been proven time and time again; this, being one of the latest, in a long line of dastardly deeds.

Have you addressed this with the provider in question? (just curious.TFF!)

...if I were a man...I would be just as angry... It's not just the money, or the misrepresentation...but it's the loss of your TIME...

Time is something that cannot ever be regained...and it has a price tag... My TIME and my financial reward from my own creation was stolen from me...

Please...do not ask me...to say that is ok...because the truth is...if we are going to allow one...then we have to allow the other...

My lady, I understand your frustration. You obviously possess great intellect and show tremendous care when posting on this site, and it illuminates brightly in all of your postings; advertisements included. I also understand the importance and value of giving people the benefit of the doubt. I am not trying to argue whether Princess of Poker copied your advertisement; I suspect she would admit as much and even establish her mens rea and that she acted with specific intent. However, in the eyes of the law and academia, plagiarism is an act of general intent.

In summary, as a crime of general intent, a person is guilty of plagiarism/copyright infringement once the words or idea is transcribed without accreditation regardless of whether or not the guilty realized the work was copyrighted/attributed to another source. I bring this up to illustrate my initial point of giving people the benefit of the doubt.

In the same advertisement in question, there are TWO copyright violations which I saw on the surface, assuming we're using the standard rule of academia to attribute when lifting three or more unique words. The first comes in the title, "Tease me, Touch me" which is used as the chorus of a song by the artist Case. (It's a crappy song, IMHO and not worth listening to! LOL) The second comes from your line, "Master where art thou?" Those words are attributed to one Danielle Herbert a singer, song-writer and actress out of Philadelphia.

I am positive you had zero intention to profit off the previously published words or steal their work, and maybe you received their prior permission, but I doubt it! The accused party who lifted your work most-certainly had specific intent to copy your advertisement. However, in the eyes of the law, your actions are equal. Both parties are guilty of copyright infringement/plagiarism since motives are moot and only actions count. In truth, we are ALL guilty of copying work and not attributing it to the source at some point. Barbara Grizutti said it best (and may have copied that too!), "There are no original ideas. There are only original people." Don't get upset and flustered. I sincerely doubt this person was trying to defraud, aggravate or impersonate you.
Your respectful suitor,

Does anybody really read those long-ass ads? I don't even look at that forum. As someone from academia and the Art world I will pass on what a professor in art school once told me when I complained that my ideas were being stolen by several students in the class: "If you're any good at what you do, your ideas will be stolen, get used to it, it's a tough fucking world. So quit bitching and go create something else so that you can stay ahead of your competition."

Wait till you see what editors and publishers do to your work when you submit for publication. If you think plagiarism hurts wait till you see your work edited.

Thank you for pointing out that there are quite a few GENTLEMEN.... who have no interest... in reading anything about the ladies on ECCIE... and that most of the men.. are only hoping to see... a few entertaining photos. The GREAT thing about ECCIE... and other sites of this nature... is that there is always a different flavor of player and play... for all types to enjoy...

That is WHY..... I always put NICE, LARGE PHOTOS in my ADS... for those men... who PREFER not to tax their minds... with my endless prattle... Lol... I am perfectly content to distract them with THE TWINS!! LOL...

However... I am not sure that you NOTICED... but this is not THE PICTURE FORUM... This is THE CO-ED DISCUSSION FORUM... and per the guidelines of ECCIE... this is supposed to be an area where HOBBY RELATED TOPICS are to be discussed... There is also a nice little disclaimer... that encourages each of us... to keep these discussions ON TOPIC, THOUGHT PROVOKING, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY.... ENTERTAINING!!

Last but not least.... each of us has a choice... of once we decide to VOLUNTARILY enter a forum... to PICK those THREADS that interest and intrigue us... If there is a thread... that we do not find particularly worthy of our attentions... HERE IS A NOVEL IDEA... that you might want to TRY...JUST DO NOT OPEN THAT THREAD... Move on to another one that does interest you... and practice spreading some positive energy... You would be amazed... at what it can do for you...

In my honest opinion... Hate will only spread hate... and that was not what my thread was about... I had the pleasure of growing up with the Faulkner family... and one of my favorite quotes from William Faulkner is this:

"Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all of the world... would do this, it would change the earth."

I do not expect everyone to understand... why this issue bothered me so greatly... However, I needed to share my frustration... and yes... my anger... and since, this is the appropriate place for it... I decided to open up... and share my thoughts... frustrations and concerns...

I do not make a habit.. of BASHING other people... and I greatly resent you telling me to stop BITCHING... and go back to creating... If you truly are an artist... then you will understand... that it is oftentimes... those moments of great pain and frustration... that can in essence...yield the greatest fruit...

I am sorry... that when you were in school... you didn't receive the support...from your professor... that you should have... when your work was stolen... That in my opinion... was a travesty...

But please do not assume that I did not learn... and grow from this experience... To be honest... if you had read... anything that I have written... you would know... that I have a rare genetic condition... that makes every second of every day... incredibly precious to me...

Now... I could be ANGRY... and spread hate... or I could do... what I do best... and that is to spread love... There is not one man... that I have ever seen... That will say... that I had not given them 200%...every time I was with them...

I do hope in the future... we can meet... under less stressful conditions...

Have a Great Day!

After some good advice from Pepper and Ember and a few others... I did contact the Princes of Poker... and NO... I did not send a HATEFUL email... I simply said that I had been gravely offended... and that in the future... I would appreciate it... if she did not use my work... etc... etc... and since, I absolutely SUCK AT BEING MEAN... I told her how sorry I was that I was having to send a nasty message... Lol...

Again... I want to thank everyone... for their thoughtful and supportive comments... I may have to take SALSA MAN out DANCING!! CG4U, Savak, Ross Boss, Next9, Pepper... Thank you for your support... it was sooo appreciated...

Now, since, I have spent the last two days... taking care of the munchkins... I need to find some SEXY MAN or WOMAN to playfully SPANK MY ASS!! Lol... 48 HOURS without a PLAY DATE is wayyy too long!! How do you married people do it?
