Some folks should realize how lucky we are

BP 'hunters' are pioneers, bushwhacking through unknown regions for the benefit of others. How many gems have been discovered and brought up for everyone to see and lust after...all because the path was cleared by the chance-taking BP hunter? Sure, they miss every now and then, but that's part of the process. How do we know certain snakes are poisonous? Somebody had to have got bitten, right? How 'lucky' we are for that guy to have suffered.

BP hunters should be praised rather than laughed at and called idiots.
Luck Jack indeed! Hey Blondie where is that lunch?

Keep exploring and reporting. If you have the cash to experiment in that way, more power to you. To some, the thrill of the hunt is just as exciting as a prepared meal. Truly WALDT.
Thanks for this, Looie. I wasn't around then, and doubt I would have been. Without all the safety precautions we have now, no way I would be comfortable. I'm very thankful that we have the luxuries we do now, and I'm glad you took the time to educate some of us on just how good we have it.

Thought provoking post. I imagine the logical progression of the hobby to be a grinder like app for our GPS enabled phones.

If you don't know what grinder is; It's a gay cruising app that alerts you when a willing candidate matching your criteria is nearby and provides ways to connect to them.

Most of you have no idea what it was like to cruise airport hotel bars looking for pro talent.

We are indeed very lucky to have these electronic resources at all--much less one as excellent as ECCIE.

Imagine booking with no access to reviews, pictures or advice from old dawgs that had already made many mistakes along the way before you.

This was awesome to read. It's good to know there are others who're optimistic about options. You're great for this, LC.

Thanks for sharing, looie. i'm old enough to remember the times you describe so well, and i agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly. i thought Craigslist was wonderful til i encountered BackPage, and then i was blown away with ASPD, which was topped by finding ECCI. Lurking for quite a while caused me to notice that many providers made the same journey, landing here as a safe haven when they find us, but still also advertising on BP to increase the financial pool. We really have the best of both worlds, ECCI for the prudent, BP for the swashbucklers. I agree with you, despite some minor irritants on occasion, it's never been this good before. Thanks for the gratitude inducing reflections.
