I've been following this thread, because I'm a Bitcoin advocate. There's a lot of misunderstanding here about bitcoins, but I have no intention to convince others here.
How is Bitcoin more anonymous than cash? It isn't. It IS more anonymous than the method most of us use to obtain our cash which is from a bank with a transaction receipt.
Scenario: SO is the family financial guru and will spot large ATM withdrawals.
The man might also be worried about saving cash here and there and getting caught hiding it.
Just an idea.
I don't have these issues. I do have plenty of coins that I obtained when most people like you all considered them a fad. I subsidize my hobbying with the sell of these coins and then use cash. It's what I call my "funny money."
