I have not been able to watch at all this season so I am slowly reading the book. Kind of hard not to hear about Rob or his mother. In the book I am at the point the two swords were made for Joff and Jamie. Seriously cant wait ro finish the book but my schedule is so busy I hardly have time to sleep lol.
I wasn't super impressed with the last episode but, there is NO way after the red wedding they could have made it more epic. I felt like it was the fourth of July and there were fireworks going on every which direction!
My advice-read the books. I read them all after season 1 and it didn't ruin it for me. Part of what is different about this series is that Martin isn't constrained by any need to have the good guys win. Having said that, if he kills off Tyrion in the last book I will hate his guts forever!
I disagree Troll. Reading the books will ruin the television series to some degree. I know that just from reading recaps online that say how an episode compares to the book. I quit reading those. No spoilers for me, please!
There have been some differences between the books and the show but not too bad. Compared to the differences between True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse books, I would say they are minor. What I like about the books is the extensive additional character development. Each of the books is at least 1,000 pages.
I guess you could read the books in 2-3 years after the series has ended. I sure hope George doesn't die before he writes the last book.
...Unlink Mr. Jordan. (Wheel of Time is finally coming to an end... yeah!)
Back on topic...
I have read all the books but haven't gotten around to watching Season 1 that I have sitting on my shelf still in the wrapper. I know I need to, but finding time with young child in the house and the fact that I am a world class procrastinator... will see if it gets watched before Christmas...
