I give Daisy knucklebones. She loves them, carries them around with her around the apartment. It takes her about a week to gnaw through one and it keeps her away from my shoes. I give her cloth toys but it takes her about an hour to disembowel one, then she plays with the cloth carcass for days. The downside is that I am constantly finding white stuffing EVERYWHERE LOL
This is Daisy. She was rescued from a trash bag found on the side of a road with two litter mates. Her tail was broken, she had "cherry eye" which is a herniation of the tear duct in her eye, was emaciated, had fleas and worms, and was in general a mess.

It took a few weeks to get her fed and de-wormed and ready for the surgery to correct her eye. Poor girl had to wear her "cone of shame" for almost a month while waiting for and then recovering from the surgery.

After the surgery - "Oh thank you Mom for taking that cone off!!!"

And here she is all grown up. For every one picture like this, I have 20 pics of just her tail LOL

This is Jake....he is my cuddle buddy. He is anyone's cuddle buddy. He is just a lapslut to be honest.

And this is Sam.....he loves to hide, can you tell?

These guys hate each other. Isn't it obvious??

I am not in any condition to have a pet, but last Christmas, I got to babysit a provider's furbaby named Sugar. Pure white short hair, one blue, one green eye. She's just so incredibly sweet and loving. And she had me well trained after the first night... 4:45am was time to pet the kitty. Once she had enough, she'd just go back to sleep!

I hope that I'll be recovered enough to baby-sit for her again when she goes on vacation again. I miss that sweet little furball!

I'm glad you took care of her. It's disgusting what some people will do to animals. I don't get it.

I had to give use a syringe to give him an ounce of a protein solution mixed with Gatorade every two hours the first few days that I brought him home. It took about a week before he could eat solid food and was able to start moving around, but he survived. He was 5 months old at the time and literally skin and bones. Today he weighs 18 pounds and is just HUGE. He dwarfs Jake in height and length. I can't help but wonder how big he would be if he'd had proper nutrition from birth.
