I lived the first 25 years of my life there. Like being long divorced, it doesn't still actively hurt, but I'm still a bit bitter about it.

There are nice spots on Missouri Side too. Raymore, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit. I refuse to live on KS side :P If you want to be closer there is always like the Waldo area too.
Thanks guys for all your advice and recommendations. It has been very helpful and appreciative. My big move will more than likely take place in a few months. Any more suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Waldo area is very mixed lifestyle. So landlords are likely to realize that not every gets a W-2 regularly. Reasonably safe. Crappy schools hold it back as a neighborhood for a family, but I think Gemma is done with that. Getting Google fiber. It would not be a bad choice, I'd think.
