Is my money woth less than anyone elses? If the session is open, why should I pay what amounts to a higher rate than some other hobbiest?
I try to book a multi-hour session (usually 2 hrs) to get preferential treatment. If some guy can commit for 3 hr, maybe with dinner too, go for him, but don't charge a higher rate.

really, as a signal guy what do I care if a providers calls and asks "can I bump you".
sometimes one will ask me to wait at a strip club. Then call me latter when ready to come over. But I have been surprised and will show up to drag me out. That can be lots of fun.

Another thought . . .with less red-ass to it:
If a provider finds that they are booked tightly enough that they can preferentially schedule a hobbyiest willing to pay more . . .She may find that charging a slightly higher rate will both, lower her "volume" (the number of sessions per day or whatever) while keeping her income the same or even bringing it up some.
This is just supply-demand economics.
