I have got over being pissed at the person of interest in my post. I don't think this is a normal way of doing business for her.. She has had two positive reviews since that day. Im glad you got over it. Although it was a bullshit excuse, maybe she had a real one that she just didnt want to tell you. Anywhooo, its always good when these kinds of situations work out.

Confrontation may have been the worry for her, she didn't want to be convinced to show up anyway by a customer being irritated and go against her gut feeling. Or felt worried about further contact with a potential LE issue.
Not excusing the lack of a call, just saying there could be many reasons. I'd have been pretty upset, but sounds like you're handling of it was considerate and takes into account everyone screws up once in awhile. /respect
