Texas vs OU

Oklahoma is not as good this year as they were the past several years with Laundry and Bradford. Don't let the record fool you. The horned calves better steal one this year if they want one. OU does have an extremely solid defense, expect UT to have trouble moving the ball.

The title to this thread is incorrect, this is the OU/TX game : )

But, hey...moving along.....t's been referred to as the Texas-OU game for decades....and if you'll notice, even the talking heads that don't have a dog in the fight, will refer to it in that order. Only those north of the Red River call it OU/TX.

Anyway, I really don't have a bone to pick with that near as much as the "politically correct" term: Red River Rivalry (say that one several times, really fast). This classic was known as the Red River Shootout for years until some tail-wag-the-dog group decided we shouldn't call a football game such. I hate the one per-centers.....I really do.
UT has hurt themselves with poor recruiting and bad coaching of the few elites they have suckered into going to UT in the last couple of years. As an Aggie I'm not complaining, but surprised Mac would let that happen. Think it's going to take UT years to climb out of this hole and with the success A&M is having, and being in the SEC, more blue chips will pick A&M over UT (for those looking to stay in Texas). However after this year when Johnny leaves A&M we'll be back to "normal" but better than we were before Johnny.

OU isn't the team they've been but think they'll slaughter UT - and Stoops is a better coach than Brown.

I hate to say it, but my fellow TEXAS fans / alumni, etc had best get liquored up Friday night and just keep on drinking right on thru game time the following morning. This one (as others during the Brown - Stoops era) could be over early and be ugly as we've ever witnessed (and we've seen some total ass kickings this past decade at the hands of the Sooners, have we not?)

The talent (or lack thereof) on the defensive side of the ball for Texas is appalling. These kids just do not have the ability / skills to play Big Boy Football. If Texas had to got thru an SEC schedule (and that conference is down this year), they'd be as bad as Vandy....if not worse. Even with their own Big 12 sched remaining, UT might lose 6 of the final 7 (surely they can beat Kansas....right?)

Make no mistake about it, the Horns will get crushed this Sat (again) by the Sooners.....and the Dec 7th game in Waco, no doubt, will be Mack's last as head coach. After that game, the yet-to-be-announced UT athletic director might want to get to to know Art Briles really well.....he'd look pretty good in burnt orange next year, wouldn't he?

Thanks for the National Championship, Mack. It was great fun playing in Pasadena back-to-back bowls several years ago.....but that was then and this is now and now isn't looking too rosey, is it? Originally Posted by Chateau Becot

The REAL reason Mack will loose his job,, goes back 3 years ago. Deciding NOT to give Johny Football a scholarship is the reason Mack is doomed.

Game will be over by halftime.
I wish UT played up to its talent but I think it shows the lack of coaching as they should be better.
See ya Mac.

UT still has a football team?
When Rivals.com analyzes the results of the recruiting class, UT gets more than just a few prized recruits, but little pans out by the end of their careers.

One more butt kicking on Saturday will be the end of Brown.
