Psssst…. Gas prices are falling!!!!

The whole charade that a POTUS has the kind of impact you think he does over gasoline prices is amusing at best. Originally Posted by eyecu2

He really, truly doesn't understand the concept of COMPARISON. It's continually stunning to me. It's been clearly explained several times now, and he still doesn't get it.

Just because some want to use a starting point of a year ago doesn’t mean it’s the only or best comparison. Part of my argument is Trump wasn’t in office then so one can argue it’s not relevant.

And then one moment it’s discussion around national gas prices and the next is PA only. Once again, you’re not the judge and jury on the requirements of the analysis.

Plus every analysis is not considering inflation. If inflation is on a 3% annual pace and gas is flat, gas is performing better than other commodities. This isn’t breaking news or difficult to understand but here we are.

You want to play around and spin data to support a hypotheses and bias? Cool I’m in and can do that too.

Sorry if used big words and slightly-complex ideas but one of your mates can probably explain it offline.

We've looked mostly at Pittsburgh, since it's what WE have been paying... including the cheapest places around town.

If you don't want it to be political, don't make it political

Cheapest around town is stuck up over $3 at $3.04 so that's not helping the average. That's been a repeating theme over the life of this thread as we've spent far more time with prices above $3 than below it.
I make it political when I see signs of TDS and cherry-picked data sets.

I’m not going sit here and watch IMO misinformation be posted for one sides “political gain”.

Nothing really cherry picked by using the data from AAA which specifically shows daily, weekly, monthly and annual.

And no one here is gaining a damn thing politically
Then the solution is simple.

Talk gas prices and not Trump.

Should last about 2-3 posts.

We didn’t even make it 1 post until back to politics which is fine by me.

Of course Biden was made fun of, he owns the all-time US record for the price of a gallon of gas at $5+. And one can argue his administration was directly responsible for that.

The lowest prices today around town are the same as they were on April 3, 2025. We're not even in the feathers part of rockets and feathers

Regardless, if you're going to (incorrectly) blame Biden for gas prices, that shit goes both ways. Especially when the current fuckwit-in-chief promised everyone "lower prices on day one".

We're roughly 300 days in... prices are either the same or higher for everything. Nothing has gotten cheaper.

Gee, that's odd! I thought Mr. Gristle said he uses Gas Buddy? How could he miss this? Is he fudging the data again?

"Americans are seeing some of the lowest prices at the gas pump in more than four years as President Donald J. Trump’s relentless commitment to American energy production pays off. GasBuddy reports the nationwide average for gasoline has dropped to $2.98 per gallon — the lowest average intra-day price in four years — with prices expected to remain that way for the foreseeable future."

I use Gas Buddy locally for the lowest prices. But if you think AAA is fudging numbers, call Marty and sick the Griffin on them

Buzzy's Minimart is the only local station currently reported below $3

Thanks for sharing, Lusty.
