Steelers 2024 thread

Lol. He just had his best game as a Steeler 10 days ago in Washington (first Steelers QB to throw 3 TDs since Ben in 2021). Of course his numbers were down against the Ravens (most QBs numbers are). Should Baltimore bench Lamar, too? His numbers were way down against the Steelers.

Wilson gives the team the best chance to win. Every game. Originally Posted by tommy156

He has to play better. We’ll see I guess.

Wilson’s 4-0 as a starter this year. That's the only stat that matters.

You think Tomlin and Smith are ignoring these stats Tommy?

You can bet they are looking at them. That’s why Fields was in at the end of the game.

Gradkowski lit us up when he was with Oakland
Agreed. I was never down on Wilson per se, but notably didn't want to upset the apple cart on a 4-2 start.

Admittedly, I thought it was a dumb move at the time, but it's worth mentioning so did everyone from Roethlisberger to Hall of Famers Terry Bradshaw and Shannon Sharpe. So, literally almost everybody was wrong about benching Fields for Wilson. All kudos to Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan: riverboat gamblers and professional football badasses. Originally Posted by tommy156

Tomlin still needs to win a playoff game without Ben though. Lol
This is the year.

You're simply ignoring the history of the Steelers/Ravens rivalry for the sake of argument. That's just silly.

No matter how he plays, there will be some who insist fields should be out qb and those who o sost wilson should be.....

Everyone has an opinion. Mine is wilson can throw better and has better command of the field.
Than the kid. Lets see who he does the rest of the year. The only stat that matters is win or loss

I look for Russ to have a bounce back game and play better. He has a ton of experience playing in bad weather. Smith has to get him to throw more to the tight ends in the middle of field and cut back on moon balls. Herbig should have a big game against their 3rd string tackle. I’m predicting a Minka interception against famous Jameis. I’m thinking 28/7

Besides, Russell just had his best game as a Steeler the week before in Washington. You're hand wringing about one single game under par, a game they won, by the way, is ridiculous.
