If it is not invading your privacy, what types of tomatoes are your favorites? Cherry, slicers? Heirlooms? Any particular varieties?
What tastes appeal to you? Tangy, tangy-sweet, aromatic, or the juicy beefsteak slice on a big sandwich or burger?
Some like the slightly unusual taste of the black tomatoes, some like the ones like Cherokee Purple types, others love the yellow-orange sweet-tart types like Kellogg's Breakfast or Yellow Brandywine, or the sweeter pinks like German Strawvberry, the Oxhearts, or the reds that come in so many shapes, sizes and flavors. Then there are the greens and the cherry tomatoes like the Sungold and the true little currant tomatoes that are a slightly different species altogether with more intense flavors. I get all excited thinking about them, looking through the catalogs and reading these charming works of fiction that are the products of amazing creativity!! Cheers one up, all these fabulous pictures where never a bug or chipmunk ever dares to torment a tomato plant!
I have a friend in Buffalo who grows more than 700, [yes, seven hundred varieties, give or take a couple hundred in any year] in his little back lot. You can easily find out who he is from the Cornell Cooperative Extension at Buffalo!! A nicely crazy, wonderful person who is glad to share some of his own varieties with you. He writes in Garden Web and similar sites.
