There’s a reason we all look at Macy’s and Nordstrom’s then buy somewhere less expensive.

I honestly do not think that the guys that posted on this thread or the other one feeling the pinch are bitching about a provider's rates, but I could be wrong. Yes, we all need to make a living and we all have expenses, but the bottom line question is, do you live within your means or do you spend money you do not have? Of course providers would like to be more than comfortable financially considering what they have to do for the money and IMO, they should be, even if they charge $200-250/hr there is no reason to not be, but because they are not at the level they feel like they should be at or since everyone else is doing it, to get to that end, their initial reaction is to raise their rates, even on johns that have seen them on a regular basis.

As I have said in the other thread, I could care less, if I want to see her, I can afford to pay a provider's advertised rates. However, to discuss this topic, some guys who may have seen a provider at $250/hr a few times a month (and as long as some of you have been around, because of your great customer service, surely you have at least double digits of guys who do that right?), but because she raised her rates, he may be only able to see her a couple times or he has found someone else just as good for the same rate he was paying, maybe turn to the AMPS and/or he could quit seeing her altogether, making her lose a regular. There are many posts on Eccie of guys stating exactly that.

Now how is she going to afford those bills she had to raise her rates on those great customers who cannot afford her anymore? Any ideas? My thoughts: She can get rid of her provider overhead easily by quitting the business of providing and go get a real world job, or she can keep your rates where they were and continue to have that steady stream of income.

Either way, I do not think the minds will deviate on the differing opinions and we could go back and forth forever. Let's just see how it plays out.

The change in rates is a minimum 20% higher year over year. Much more than the rate of inflation.

Lets use an example from earlier in this thread.

250 hour x 5 clients a week $1250 a week x 52 weeks = $65,000 a year.

Raise your rates to $300 an hour and loose 1 client a week.

300 hour x 4 clients a week $1200 a week x 52 week = $62,400 a year. $2600 less

Go the other way, and lower rates to expand your market by 2 clients a week (conservative estimate)

200 Hour x 7 clients a week $1400 a week x 52 weeks = $72,800 a year.

A $7800.00 raise!

At 2 bills an hour provider’s requests would go through the roof! So double up a couple days a week and only work 4 days a week make the same amount!

Then 52 fewer hotel stays a year would reduce your overhead by at least another $4000.00

52 weeks a year 3 days off a week = 156 days off a year, that’s 22 weeks.

I know there too many variables to make this a sure fire plan.

There will always be a small percentage of clients and providers where money is no issue. For 90% of us where that’s not the case it works.

Well you can write off your $3 of water bottles $60-$100 suites off Priceline if you want but how can you compare that to incalls that cost about $1000 (that’s rent in dfw), $200-$1000 per photo shoot, about $100 tanning membership, $60 gym membership, $1200/mth if they have personal trainer, hell just a bra is $100, $150 for every pedi/mani. You really gonna compare that to your $1.50 toothbrush? Man stfu.

These ladies can do that because just as many that are asking for discounts....there are twice as many tipping.

And let’s not forget-everything is getting more expensive for everybody. Rent goes up every year. Prices on everything gradually increases. Look at groceries. You can not get what you use to for $100 at the grocery store so why on earth would you expect to get the same in the hobby world. I'm really glad this topic sprung up.. its been time for me to raise my rates a little anyhow.

How about out of pocket std testing every three months, hair, nails, tanning, lingerie, heels, electricity, water bill, trash and sewer, WiFi, refreshments for clients, towels, sheets, mouthwash, soap, body wash, laundry, all the furniture for an Incall, photo shoots, advertising, hobby phone, website, the list can go on and on. All of this is in addition to the expenses we have at home. Yes most smart providers pay taxes too.
