You were asking a fair question, and there is nothing wrong with asking for others opinions.I think that some of us were responding more to the old belief that rape to an escort is when she does not get paid over the original question that you were asking ( I know that I was).I am sorry that you were robbed.Anytime someone takes something from you by the use, or threat of violence it has to be an awful experience.I think that as others have already pointed out you really can not compare the two situations aside from the fact that both are scary/ horrible moments to have to go through.

You should never feel bad about bringing up an important topic.

OK, I do have one more thing to add! In, Italy, what happened to you would in fact be called rape: http://www.lifeinitaly.com/node/19233

I think this legislation is awesome and wonderful. Though I understand the difference between being held at gun point versus not paid, I am thrilled that both can be legally punished, at least in one corner of the world.
