Cruz will be an utterly ineffective Senator if he acts on his campaign promises, which have been pretty extreme and which he has repeatedly indicated he will not compromise on. He'll get nothing done. The senate, thank god, is not the house....yet. It's a shame. We need a lot less of what Congress has done for the past 2 decades that Kay Bailey was there. I don't know if she supported a lot of the horrible fiscal policies but I suspect she did. I am tired of those that think compromising us into fiscal servitude is acceptable. Cruz may be an asshole when all is said and done but at least give him the chance to prove himself worthy. If he is not we can toss his ass out in the next primary.

If Cruz keeps his nose clean and doesn't embarrass himself with public activities, in six years he will be re-elected if he wants to be. The demographics are on his side in Texas, and they will be stronger in the next cycle for him.
