One thing is absolutely clear, the founders intended that the federal government be limited. The federal government has grown far beyond what the founders intended because leftist judges and politicians are intellectually dishonest. They pretend to honor their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution with no intention of doing so.

The amendment process is slow and difficult. Liberals prefer to just reinterpret the Constitution so that it fits their purpose. Liberals could have tried to amend the Constitution to give the federal government authority to legalize abortion. Instead they invented "the right to privacy" which no court had ever found in the Constitution before.

Interesting quotes, TTH. Of course, Brennan was an idiot.

But Marshall, good god! Do you know nothing of Constitutional history? I believe your quote is from Marbury v Madison. You know, the case where Justice Marshall wrote the destructive doctrine of judicial review into the Constitution on his own, to cover his own ass. He struck down a law that he himself violated. It was Marshall who failed to deliver the documents in question. That hardly qualifies him as a legal scholar, or anyone whose opinion should be respected. If he had any integrity, he would have recused himself from that case. He didn't. What a waste of time he was.

And, of course, you realize that your interpretation of the Constitution, in that it means whatever we want it to mean, really means that it means nothing at all. But that's good for you, now none of your anti-liberty, statist policies are forbidden. You can turn the country into a gulag if you want, and it would be Constitutional.

Liberals have burned the constitution, and they laugh at us as stupid, ignorant children with no intellectual heft, no moral standing, and virtually no rights of our own that differ from their prescriptions for a proper life enslaved to the government.
The only hatred they nurse is for our side, our ideas, our existence. We should throw off such government as a slave would free himself from his tormenting master.
