Tipping

There are probably people on here that can be helped. You're not one of them. Originally Posted by Next Best Thing

I do not usually tip.

On the other hand, I will tip if time runs over and I'm the only one that noticed, or for exceptional service above and beyond expectations. I've been know to tip over 100% for the latter.

On the gripping hand, I would never tip by request. Very rude.

It only happens once in a while (might be due to that my rate isn't super high-end but it's not "budget" either").
I notice some generally do it on top of extend.multi-hr dates (I guess if they've already spent xyz already what's another 100).
It's pretty rare a gent tips upfront and if he does it's typically someone I've already had a lot of visits with.
I've already found my "happy price" for what I do ... if I don't get a tip I'm not bothered.

This is actually a really interesting thread with some great constructive responses. In general I would agree with those that tip for exceptional service or extra time/no clock watching. Honestly, I tend to tip the gals that do a great job and that charge less of a basic rate but generally speaking rates are already signficant and adding tip to everyone would make the hobby far more cost prohibitive.

My attitude is if you own your own business, you don't get tipped. It's like hairdressers who work out of their house. So, if I know you're working for a pimp (but then I wouldn't see you) or agency, I'll tip. If you are independent, then no, since the price you set is exactly what you're getting,

Having said that, I have tipped regulars during the holiday season.

But I haven't seen anyone in so long, I can't remember how to pay, never mind tip...

I often tip ,it depends more on the mood I'm in not the preformance of the provider.
