Good Seafood Restaurants?
Sea Island is good for fried fish and shrimp but if you want mahi mahi or swordfish grilled I like the Water street Oyster bar on Broadway
I didnt know that Bourbon St Seafood was owned by the same people that owned Papa Nachos. I knew Scuzis was.
I really like Papa Nachos, so I looked at Bourbon St Seafoood's website. Says that have an additional location in Leon Springs--the other side of 19 from Papa Nachos.
Think I'm gonna go by there.
I recommend Ernesto's on Jackson-Keller, it is all about the Signature Sauces. Kinda in an inconspicuous office mall type building.
I would order something grilled. If you can, make sure to have Ernesto drop by your table to help you select your your sauces.
Amaya & Nikki, I am SURE Ernesto will drop by your table several times, probably before you get your water.
Can't go wrong with Sea Island. Another hidden gem on the Southside for seafood is the Texan on Pleasanton @ Division.
Mortons Steak House has great sea food
The very best seafood in town is called Fredericks on Broadway. They're excellent and have been there a very long time. Its quiet.

Pappadeaux's is usually very good and has great Banana pudding..lol
Acadianas 410 & 151 towars Marbach. I don't know why it's just delicious and it has been there as far back as I can remember.
I agree with Molly, especially there catfish. Acadiana gets my vote.
All the aforementioned restaurants are good (in their own right) from a local scene perspective. However, if you ever have some time on your hands or are ever heading down to the Coast, stop in at the RAILROAD Restaurant in Odem, TX (77N just off 37S heading toward Corpus) about 2 hours south of us.
All their seafood is spectacular but with an added A+ on their Colossal Fried Shrimp. Nobody comes close except for the Kings Inn outside Kingsville, Tx. The RAILROAD also has a location near downtown Corpus Christi, albeit not as "homey" as the one in Odem.
Kind Regards
NJ, like those recommendations.
Acadiana had its heyday when Gidry (sp) had the place. When he separated the really good food did too.
Papadeux is a thumbs up with me.
I've been to the boiling pot in Austin and yes very good place. Other then that It would be Joe's Crab SHack I love there garlic and herb snow crab..
Can't beat sea island for the price. Last time i was at pappadeaux, i actually had the filet - it was VERY good. You can also try the Chili's combo - salmon w/a 1/2 rack (if you like meat)
