Agreed. What they don't take into account is when you live out like I do the police are 30 min away. A 9 mm and a 12 ga beats 911 any day. Originally Posted by tx-colonel

A 50 cal will destroy an engine. Would it turn a vehicle into a fire ball ..only in the movies. I want more fire power than a bolt action rifle. At about $3 a round, you will quickly lose interest in shooting it unless you reload and then it is still expensive.

The kind with the ceramic discs as well as BB shot does impressive damage in a tight pattern. I picked up a Western Auto (mossberg 300) awhile back for $125 already equipped with a m4 style stock and beavertail forend. Simple construction, dead nuts reliability.

EZ,
I enjoy long range shooting. If a unannounced vehicle is coming down the drive....the 50 will stop them. Maybe not the round but the muzzle flash and percussion will tell them to stop.
If I am protecting the house....AR's in 308. Throw a lot of lead while the are out away from the house.

I would rather end the situation at the fence versus on the porch.

When I lived in Dallas I had a 9mm with Glazer safety slugs as they did not go through walls very well. 1/4 inch penetration and athen the energy is dispersed laterally. Very nasty round.

The shot guns are for garden defense against rabbits. Can't wait for silencer!

Have a great day!

In Vietnam, I carried an Ithica 12 gauge pump with a duckbill spreader. I also had a CAR15 with a thumper. We ran patrols into the A Shau which is dense jungle. Discovered, we would be less than 20 feet away. A scoped weapon would be worthless.

Now, there are shotguns that can fire 20+ shells.

They think it's cool that they're able to hold something that their great grandfather held when he was their age.

Wow. I had heard the term 'ammosexual' before, but I had not really experienced it until your post.

Cheers,

My family was exiled from Canada in 1755 to the swamps of southern Louisiana. We have fought, for this country, in the war of 1812, battle of New Orleans. Two family members are on the San Juacinto monument. My Grandfather was wounded in the trenches of WW1. My father in WWII. Two uncles in Korea and I spent three tours in Vietnam. You have the nerve to tell me to go to Canada. Go fuck yourself. Originally Posted by EZ.

The conversation is "Eric Holder said the Obama Administration is looking at several technological innovations ....." I was told the if I didn't like it go to Canada. Do you think that this is something that would have been said to my face? Typical liberal.
