Life is what you make of it. You have to do what is right for you and ignore all those negative people who probably will not like any decision you make no matter what it is. It all comes down to how you look at yourself and what you expect from your efforts. If the hobby life makes you happy and provides what you need to survive then enjoy all the benefits and perks that come with it and handle the bad as best you can.
