The Rockets were 2-0 vs the Bulls in 1992-93, when Mad Max was playing for the Rockets and Jordan was playing for the Bulls. Originally Posted by chicagoboy

The Bulls won the championship, but they didn't beat the Rockets. Unfortunately, we'll never know how the Rockets at their pinnacle would have fared against the Bulls at their pinnacle, or vice versa. Match-ups are crucial.
Well the comeback in last night's game was awesome, I thought for sure that we were outta there.

You are absolutely correct the Rockets defense help the win that 1st Trophy!
You guys are forgetting that we had the one player that could consistently shut Jordan down in Vernon Maxwell.
The Rockets were a defensive juggernaut during that first championship run. I'm not saying they would have breezed by the Bulls but the Bulls would have had a hard time dealing with what Houston had on the court. Houston had a good matchup against the Bulls with Olajuwan, Thorpe, Horry, Smith and Maxwell.
Who knows what would have happened in the next year after Maxwell pulled his shit. That's about the time Junkyard Dawg was coming into his own and he wasn't scared of nobody.
Can't find the records but I'm pretty sure the Rockets with Maxwell had a winning record against the Bulls with Jordan 89-93. Originally Posted by boardman

Pretty sure they showed up in the end of the series!

Moving this to the litterbox now that we've gotten a sufficient rebuttal...
