Racist Providers?

interesting read... i love how everyone has become so liberal...lol, ask the same question when trying to buy a car. would each of you feel the same way if red mccombs turned away a "customer" because he or she is AA? would you say..."oh they can go buy from any other dealer ship" , "its the dealerships choice who they can sell a car too"... i seriously doubt it... yes this (hobbying) is not considered a legit business transaction , and yes this is a transaction with service. ask the same question in 99.99% of any other business and this whole thread would be on the other end of the spectrum. so why shouldnt it apply here? for many reasons... kissing ass? trying to be profound? blah blah blah... call it what it is... kudos to those who see the forrest in spite of the trees. because the horse isn't dead enough....there is a difference between preferences and prejudice. A preference is- I like red heads, blondes, spinners or i like men/women that are at least a certain skin tone or lighter. Those are preferences. If the ad said I don't see men over 400lbs or immature men then that's a preference.

Prejudice means the person is pre-judging everyone in a particular race, status or age and based on that prejudice decides that they don't want to see any of them. I have often wondered if provider that doesn't see AA men would see a person that was mixed or a AA male that was just as light as a Hispanic male. If it was a preference thing then it would be that they didn't want to see anyone darker than yellow or whose nose is wider than 2 inches instead of I don't want to see any one of this particular race regardless of physical appearance.

If a woman has had several bad experiences with a particular race or age then I don't think it's racism or ageism . I think its being cautious. It is better that the provider put in their ads who they wont see because it does save time. People do have the right to be prejudice but don't pretend like it is something else or be upset because someone else is upset that you're prejudice.

I can also understand the frustration of seeing ads that say no AA or black men when you don't see any ads that say no to any other race. I am racing through this before work so sorry this isn't organized well. Thanks for reading and Happy Holidays!!!!

I agree with Dennis, yes it is a bussiness but a very personal one. Just because an individual makes the peronal choice not to be involved interacially does not mean they should be called a racist. After all it is their body and they should have the right to choose what they do with it and who they do it with, business or not.

GFEfinder... excelllent post.

I agree that we all have a right to see whom we choose for whatever the reason may be. That being said.. I am sure it is difficult for men of certain races to have to hear or see that a provider they wish to spend their time and money with won't see them simply because of their skin color. Maybe it is because they have had bad experiences with men of that certain race, and do not feel comfortable anymore. And that would make a BCD not so great for everyone. So all in all, if a provider doesn't want to see you because your race and doesnt say anything and then you don't have a good time then it was a waste of your money. I have had great experiences with men of several different ethnic backgrounds, while I have been treated poorly by men of several different backgrounds.

I am entirely caucasian and cannot relate in that sense at all. But I do empathasize. I am not everyone's cup of tea and that used to bother me. Now I realize that there are plenty of other people that find me completely attractive and that's all that matters.

Have a safe and Naughty holiday.. because being on the nice list can't be much fun!! LOL

I can understand what everyone saying here and understand that it is a preference, maybe the thread title should have been "Preference or Prejudice".

Those offended by the title get over yourselves!! It was a valid question, being that majority of providers don’t have any other restrictions. When AA men are your only restriction then the questions tend to arise. Yes, it could be preference but I have not seen another provider with any other restrictions, so please stop acting like it was inappropriate to ask. I say their lost, my money is just as green as anyone else’s and I will give it to those who can appreciate it. Period…

Coolblk,
I don't think anyone was offended by the title. The point being made is what difference does it make why the provider refuses to see black guys. It is her decision period and her posting it should make it easier for the AA to find a provider who will enjoy seeing him. Just because see will not spend BCD time with an AA does not make her a racist. She may very well be a racist but you cannot know that by this decision. Get over it and move on.
In years past, I know of at least two black providers who posted that they did not see AA men. Dose this make them racist?

I have had providers decline seeing me because of age (too old) and size. If I was a provider I would be listed as BBW. Their choice.

I prefer providers with natural grooming in the SE pasture. But it remains their choice as to how they groom, just as it is my choice of who I will see.

The discriminatior is, for the most part if not totally, the color green and what brings in the most is frequently what determines the conditions.

INMO, remove the racist term and then this becomes a low emotion discussion.

The reasons vary from provider to provider.
