Capitalism's Dirty Byproduct

I'm in the top tax bracket. Nice try, cocksucker. And I've said it before, I don't hate capitalism, but it's not built for longevity. Originally Posted by WombRaider

This is why proper Govt oversight is needed in a capatilist system. . . capatilism left completely on its own will destroy itself just like complete socialism would destroy itself. . . a healthy balance of the two is needed. Originally Posted by southtown4488

Ah yes, all capitalism is driven by greed and must be throttled by the government.
Can somebody tell me if corporate welfare is what all of these huge capitalistic corporations give in charitable donations in extremely large amounts of money. What about the immense numbers of people that capitalism employs and the taxes collected as a result. What about those greedy dividends they pay to 401k plans that aid in the retirement and pension plans of so many average citizens.

Talk about perfect timing:

A massive explosion in a Chinese warehouse kills dozens (so far) and causes huge devastation.

This is what happens in socialist countries, Womby. Because they skimp on basic safety items in order to maximize economic growth and profits to be redistributed to their supporters.

What was that you were saying about socialism, mope?

Completely agree, but you've gone and said the dirty S word now. The very argument that you will hear them use for the reason socialism fails; human nature. Is the very same reason that a purely capitalist system ultimately fails; human nature. Greed will eventually kill it. Originally Posted by WombRaider

Capitalism left to it's own devices doesn't collapse. It's crony capitalism and socialism that eventually collapses. There is a difference. America doesn't need to abandoned Capitalism and jump to Socialism that's not going to fix anything. No form of economy is fool proof anyway. It's much easier to work with and improve what we already have.

I never said we should abandon capitalism for socialism. you say no form of economy is fool proof. . . I completely agree. I also agree that we should work with what we have and improve it. What I hear a lot of is the demonizing of socialism. . . its like that old lady that berated Obama for Obama care calling it socialist as if it were evil incarnate. . . then she went on to say. . "and don't you dare touch my social security". . . not realizing the glaring contradiction.

What is it driven by? Profit. Greed is a byproduct of that need for profit.
